The unavoidable Palace of the Popes

Avignon has a great urban landscape overlooking the city and the Rhône, the Rocher des Doms presents an exceptional set of monuments of Pont St. Benezet, the Ramparts, the Petit Palais, the Cathedral des Doms and impressive walls flanked by four mighty towers the Palais des Papes. This architectural group is classified by UNESCO "World Heritage Site".
The monument also offers the visitor continuous cultural activities throughout the year. thematic and educational exhibitions, themed tours, concerts are organized.

L'Isle sur la Sorgue

L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue tient son nom de la Sorgue qui prend sa source quelques kilomètres en amont à Celle-ci se divise en de multiples canaux (voir Histoire), qui font alors apparaître la ville comme un groupement d'îles. Certains l'ont surnommé Venise Comtadine (par référence au Comtat Venaissin, dont L'Isle faisait partie).
